Our mission is to cleanup, restore and get your property, belongings, and life back to normal as quickly as possible.

Fire Damage
The damage resulting from a fire to your residential or commercial property can be devastating, both emotionally and financially. After the flames have been extinguished, your property and valuables are left exposed and damaged from heat, smoke, soot, and sometimes from the water used to extinguish the fire. In most cases, smoke will penetrate deep into the immediate and adjacent ceilings, walls, and floors, and can quickly ruin furniture, fabrics, and expensive electrical and computer equipment. It is vital to cleanup as soon as possible after a fire to mitigate further damage caused by water and soot. At CRS, we have over 80 years of combined service experience in cleaning up and restoring after a fire. We understand the stress and anxiety resulting from such a disaster, and while not everything can be repaired from this kind of damage, our certified restoration technicians can remove, clean, and when possible, restore your valuables, antiques, and collectibles with great care to their pre-disaster condition.

Types of Fire
Fires are classified into five classes that are based on the material fueling the fire. Class A fires involve combustibles such as paper, wood, plastics, and rubber. Oftentimes, these types of fires can be extinguished quickly and may only leave smoke and soot damage. Class B fires are more dangerous because they involve flammable liquids such as oils, gasoline, solvents, paints, and oil-based products. Class C fires can be generated from electrical equipment with faulty motors and wiring. Class D fires involve combustible metals, such as lithium, titanium, and magnesium. Class K fires, one of the more common types of household fires, involve combustible cooking oils and grease. In some cases, fire damage may appear minimal, but often the soot and smoke that penetrates surfaces will linger in the air unless professionally cleaned. At CRS, we have the knowledge, expertise, experience, and care to help you recover from a fire.

Fire Cleanup
Our IICRC certified technicians specialize in residential and commercial property fire and water cleanup in Charlotte and surrounding areas. Our cleanup services begin as soon as the fire department says the property is safe to work in. We begin with documenting the damage and removing the debris and standing water from the property. Valuable items affected by the fire and water damage are carefully removed for photographing, cleaning, and restoration. Next, we thoroughly dry the property, which is key to preventing the growth of dangerous mold and bacteria. Your property is temporarily boarded up for protection against the elements, animals, and intruders while we clean the walls, ceilings, and floors of soot and smoke damage. We use state-of-the-art equipment to rid the property of residual smoke odors and we scrub the air vents, air shafts, windows, and door frames of corrosive particles that are a byproduct of fire and smoke. We use dry HEPA filter vacuuming, dry soot sponging, and air blasting to remove the layers of soot that land on and attach themselves to vertical and horizontal surfaces. We also use pressure washing, wet vacuum extraction, thermal fogging, and steam cleaning processes to clean, deodorize, and sanitize surfaces.

Fire Restoration
The damage caused by smoke and fire will vary based on the class of fire and its duration. Plastics, painted walls, and vinyl flooring can turn yellow and most fabrics, including rugs, carpets, drapes, and upholstery will quickly absorb the smoke and smell of a fire. Soot will eat away at wooden surfaces and cause many metals to begin corroding. The acid residue produced from the smoke will stain most surfaces and the damage can be irreversible if not quickly cleaned and treated. Our technicians are professionally trained in fire damage cleanup and restoration services and are experienced in using a variety of cleaning chemicals, techniques, and approaches. In many instances, we can restore irreplaceable and delicate items such as clothing, antiques, personal paperwork, and even photographs.
